TF2 - The Sandman

Sup gais! I have been somewhat busy with a little prop lately, a modified wooden basbeball bat inspired by one of my favorite videogames, Team Fortress 2

The Sandman is a weapon for the Scout class and this sexy piece will be part of my even sexier full Scout cosplay that I plan to finish in the coming month and wear with all of my fellow nerd friends to the FACTS convention in Gent.

The wooden bat was getting kind of mossy in my backyard, so I took it in, gave it a bath and took it out to dinner. Next I sanded it thoroughly, so that paints and varnish would even consider sticking to it. After some super engineery calculations I sketched the logo on it and painted it on shortly afterwards. After a few days I started slapping varnish all over it, making it shiny cause shiny things are better things. All that was left was a knot on the top, for which I sacrificed one of my old shitty shirts, and the handle that is basically a piece of tennis racket grip. Mix together and put it in the microwave for 3 minutes on 750 Watts and voilà, epic is served.
